Organic Freedom Farm
When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from
many colors, classes, creeds, and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again. They
will be known as the warriors of the Rainbow --
Old Native American Prophecy
The Freedom Farm Vision
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To resonate our love for the Mother Earth with the creation of a sustainable
  "Eden in the Desert"

The Freedom Farm Core Values
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • We will provide residents with adequate shelter
  • We will provide residents and visitors with a safe, non-intrusive, yet
supportive small family environment free from prejudice
  • We will treat our Freedom Farm Family with respect, fairness, and
    generosity
  • We will minimize our consumption, conserving resources and make
every effort to provide a self-sustainable environment
  • We will make every effort to use 100% natural and/or recycled building
    materials
  • We will not rape the Mother Earth with traditional farming methods.
Rather we will tread lightly and practice perma-culture gardening,
    creating an edible landscape
  • We will sell our goods at local flea markets and farmers markets, but
    keep our mainstream affiliation minimal
  • We will make all decisions regarding the functional aspects of the
Freedom Farm via a casual consensus process.
  • We will never require visitors or residents to make cash donations to
    projects that effect property value
  • We will provide a vegetarian environment with dairy and fish as the only
acceptable animal food products within the farm boundaries
  • We will provide a drug free environment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. Decisions regarding the functional aspects of the Freedom Farm will
be made via a casual consensus process
  2. Residents only may take part in the consensus, however visitors may
attend the meeting.  A facilitator will lead the meeting and will be
    appointed via a rotation process
  3. Morning meeting will occur daily at sunup to outline the days projects
and chores.  Resident or visitor responsible for preparation of a
continental breakfast will be done on a rotation
  4. Dinner meeting will occur one day a week to discuss finances and
preparation of a family dinner will be done on a rotation
  5. One resident will be appointed to keep minutes of all Freedom Farm
    meetings

The Freedom Farm Daily Chores Requirements
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. All residents and visitors will have the option of chore responsibility
either by rotation or permanent assignment
  2. Amount of time spent on daily chores will be equal to approximately 2
hours in the early morning (Immediately following sunrise morning
meeting) and approximately 2 hours in the early evening depending
upon number of residents and visitors present at any given time.

Note: Only those individuals who exude a true love of the mother will receive work
assignments in the garden area. Reading of "The Secret Life of Plants" is a
    required prerequisite.
Only those individuals who have a genuine love and respect for animals will be
considered to work in the barnyard.

  • Goat herding
  • Garden maintenance

The Freedom Farm Financial Freedom Plan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. A donation of $80 per month or $25 per week is requested from all
visitors and residents.  This fund is solely for the needs of the collective,
and our budget will be evaluated by the council each week .
  • Upon completion of a 90 day trial, an agreement (via consensus) of
residency will be open for discussion. The resident has the option of
continuing with the temporary financial arrangement or a 10% income
share.  Otherwise, the resident may provide the council with a written
proposal outlining a reasonable trade offer
  • Residents and visitors will never be required to donate to funds raised
solely for the increased value of the property. It is however, immanent
that some of our additions (such as fruit trees, etc...) will increase the
    value of the property
2.  Each resident is expected to take a minimum of one shift per month
at a local swap meet or farmers market in order to raise funds for the
 collective
  • A stipend of 10% of the days gross sales will be paid to the resident
managing the booth at the close of the sale day. A concise record of
    sales made will be required
3.  Quality handcrafted items may be sold to the farm on a consignment,
and will be accepted only upon agreement of the council.
  • All consignments will be cataloged in the consignment book with an
identification number and selling price posted clearly on the item.
Tagging of items is the responsibility of the creator
  • All consignments will be considered property of the collective for 30
days.  At the close of 30 days, both the collective and the creator can
discuss whether or not to renew the agreement
  • A 20% consignment fee will be retained and deposited into the treasury
in order to cover costs incurred for flea market booth, gas, and stipend
    payments
  • Interest free start-up loans will be made available to residents for the
start-up of a personal craft venture. A written proposal is to be
presented to the council for approval.  Funds not to exceed $75.00
  • Because most flea markets/farmers markets are held on weekends, all
consignment payments will be calculated and paid on the Monday
    following the sale date
4.  Wage work referral at a local sustainable farm may be available in the
future (We are still negotiating this)

The Freedom Farm Living Arrangements
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

provided with adequate shelter. Available shelter is provided on a first-

    practiced for energy efficiency.
